Both use an SSD for booting, etc. I got about a factor of two improvement in control time depending on the operation. Some of this is from a bit better processor, some improvements in Photoshop CC but mostly from the increased storage velocity. So you are recommending an SSD with higher storage DDR4 and speed memory. Is either an internal or external SSD a viable option here? It would be easier and less costly to add with an external SSD simply.
My wish is that I possibly could simply add an exterior SSD and perhaps cut the processing acceleration of my various apps in half or better would be optimum. I am not concerned with the start up time as I am usually starting from Sleep setting and even full-Startup time is no problem nor is saving images a concern. PsCC19 and ACR quickly run pretty. DxOPL with Prime NR involved is slower. AIGigapixel is very slow on the rare occasions that I use it. I am currently trialing CaptureOne Pro 12 but haven’t noticed any problems with it.
